Volunteer Opportunity – Cybersecurity Content Creator

The role

What you will do

• Write technical blogs about cybersecurity findings, research, and insights
• Publish whitepapers and research on the AXUM SEC platform
• Track global cybersecurity activity and emerging threats
• Curate and manage cybersecurity news for our community
• Create content for the AXUM SEC website and systems
• Collaborate with our security experts and AI team
• Maintain a consistent publishing schedule (2 to 4 articles per month)

What we are looking for

• Strong interest in cybersecurity
• Good writing skills in English
• Ability to research and verify information
• Self-motivated and able to work remotely
• Commitment of at least 2 to 4 articles per month
• Fluent in English (Amharic is a plus)

Nice to have

• Prior writing experience (blog, research, or academic)
• Knowledge of security topics like OWASP, penetration testing, or threat intelligence
• Experience with markdown or content management systems
• Social media and community engagement skills
• Fluency in Ethiopian languages such as Afaan Oromoo, Tigrigna, Somali, Sidama, or others
• Interest in translating or creating technical content for local audiences
• Familiarity with QLang, our system that creates language versions of AXUM SEC resources and posts so readers can access content in their own language
• Passion for making cybersecurity knowledge accessible to all Ethiopians
